Mrs. Geiger's Website
Welcome to my website. My name is Kristy Geiger and I teach fifth grade Science and Writing at Northmoor Elementary. This is my tenth year as a teacher. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and am a National Board Certified Teacher. The start to this school year has been a successful one. All of the students are adjusting nicely to the changes that have to be made in fifth grade. I am looking forward to making the rest of the year just as successful as the beginning has been.

Tuesday Newsday
Each Tuesday the students will be bringing home a Tuesday Newsday folder. In that folder, we will be sending home flyers, graded papers, and anything that needs to be sent home from the previous week. If it is important and needs to be sent home before Tuesday, we will do that. Each week that the folder comes home, it will need to be signed by a parent and sent back in the next day or there will be a consequence. The goal of the folder is to help foster communication between home and school. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Fifth Grade Rules:
1. Respect others always.

Agendas:
Each student will be given an agenda that they will be expected to write down homework assignments in. If you know that your child has issues with writing down homework assignments and would like to discuss initialing your child’s agenda, please let me know and I will be more then happy to do that.
Absences:
When a student is absent, a student secretary records all homework assignments and other important class information on an absence sheet. Parents who call the office by 10 A.M. can request to pick up their homework assignments be the end of the school day. Students have one make-up day for each day of absence, plus one. For example, if a child is absent 3 days, he has 4 days to make up the work. If the sheet is not picked up on the day of the absence, the students will receive it on the day of his/her return to school.
